What happened?

Inner Voyage was a structured environment with a time sensitive approach to helping me get into recovery. The focused and intentional based treatment allowed me to overcome the obstacles in my life that were holding me back from success. Through engaging in therapy, I was able to become more open and honest about what I needed to achieve long term recovery.

What it was like?

I was using alcohol and prescription opioids for over 20yrs as functional addict. I was on and off in recovery trying to stay sober on my on yet I was unsuccessful until I found IVRC which helped me achieve long term recovery and helped me get back to being successful. I truly appreciate Inner Voyage helping me grow my sober community and making the connections I needed to change my life.

What life is like now?

Now I am still happily married, a better father, grandfather, husband, and successful in professional endeavors due to taking control of my life and letting Inner Voyage Recovery Center guide me in the right direction. I would recommend Inner Voyage Recovery Center to anyone needing help and looking to get into recovery.

What happened?

Inner Voyage was a structured program that allowed me to remain accountable and build a healthy routine. The individualized therapy sessions allowed me to dive deep into the foundation of what was driving my addictive behavioral patterns. When I was fresh out of inpatient treatment Inner Voyage felt like a really safe place to go and learn about addiction and recovery from those who have lived it. Being held accountable to get up and go somewhere every day made my transition from addiction/inpatient living to normal life easy. It forced me to dig deep and find the uncomfortable truths that were driving my addiction. The knowledgeable and friendly medical staff all the way down to the behavior health techs made me feel like I was a part of a community of like minded individuals who understood me.

What was it like?

I lived as a functional kratom addict for almost a decade, and though I lived a mostly normal life and was able earn a degree and find employment at a reputable scientific government agency I still felt like I was a prisoner in my own skin. It wasn’t until I fell into a polyaddiction of kratom and benzos when the wheels fell off and I was finally able to admit I needed help. I humbled myself in front of the IVRC staff and they really jumped in and helped my every step of the way. They guided me through the different stages of withdrawal and what to expect, they offered intensive psychoeducation, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help me navigate what I was experiencing in my own mind. They pushed me to make connections with outside recovery organizations and explore what my personal recovery journey was going to look like. It was great being surrounded by staff who had been in the same place I had been.

What is life like now?

I am happily married and am expecting a little boy in late September. My professional life is blossoming and I feel healthier than I ever have been. I feel well educated on all things recovery and continue to attend dharma recovery meetings weekly where I connect and grow spiritually with people who have been in my shoes. Inner Voyage changed my life and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found them in my time of need. I only wish I would’ve released the burden of addiction earlier and not forced myself to suffer in silence for 8 years. I never knew you could go to rehab without completely shuffling around your personal and professional life, IVRC was a great fit for my because it allowed me to get the help that I needed without completely putting my life on hold. IVRC is a fantastic choice for both outpatient rehabilitation and sober living and I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
